The problem
A side question in a long Claude Code session stays in that session’s context for good.
What I built
- A side-thread for Claude Code that forks the current session, answers in the fork, and leaves the main session untouched.
- The fork runs read-only with hooks disabled, so it can read everything and write nothing back.
- Built on Claude Code’s own fork-session option; the wrapper and the proof are mine.
How it stays safe
- Read tools only, by design.
- Verified: zero bytes added to the main session.
